Betty Taylor, champion of victims/survivors of domestic family violence, shares her wisdom on reforming government & non-government responses

Betty Taylor CEO Red Rose Foundation

Betty Taylor CEO of Red Rose Foundation and long-term champion of victims/survivors of domestic family violence, shares her wisdom on reforming government & non-government responses. Firstly, she says we need to listen to survivors like Geraldine Bilston and involve them in reforms to enhance policing and integrated responses. Then she insists the Qld Police Service cannot undertake reform alone. All systems non-government and government need to work in harmony. Lastly Betty urges the two sectors to collaborate on achievable reforms that will make an improvement now not well into the future, commending some of the ideas for change discussed at the workshop.

This speech was recorded at the Enhancing policing and integrated responses to domestic and sexual violence workshop, co-hosted by Kerry Carrington and the University of the Sunshine Coast 21 October 2022. The recording was split into two for editing purposes. You can listen to it by clicking the links below.
